Yes I am still alive and still pregnant. I have just been so busy with the new house and getting organized that I have not had time to update. In fact I have not knit a stitch since Stitch and Pitch 2 weeks ago. The nesting instinct is kicking in big time but I have no idea if that is because I will going into labor soon or just because of the move. I am hoping against hope that this will be my last week at work - I just need to get the doctor to sign me out. Wish me luck.
So I did alright as far as my Olympic Challenge was concerned. I finished the blanket and bib and started the seamless yoke baby sweater. Of course I only got about 5 rows of the sweater done but I started it and that is all that matters. However, I never even took the Icarus out of the bag. In fact it is packed away somewhere with the rest of my stash. I also won a contest over at Veronica's blog but the pictures will have to wait until next time ....

Well look what I found
I found my USB cable for my camera yesterday. It was not packed in a box but was under a pile of crap waiting to be packed. So beware this is a picture heavy post.
First off some FOs for you. Here is the Rainbow Blanket that I have been working on since January. This was the pattern from the Knitting Pattern a Day Calender on the day we learned I was pregnant. This means item #1 on my Olympic Challange list can be crossed off!

These are the baby bibs I have been making. All of these are made from Sugar 'n Cream yarn.

As always details can be found on my finished objects blog and on Ravelry.
Now tomorrow we sign the lease and prepare to move into our new townhouse. We are so excited and not just because this is the state of our dining room;

bedroom;

and extra bedroom.

Now we need to paint (which my friend Lynne is kind enough to help us with) and get everything settled before the baby comes. This is not going to be fun! Until next time ....

My Own Olympic Thing
As nice as the Ravelympics sound I never got around to sign up for it. With everything going on around here I am lucky to get out of the house with my purse, keys and fully dressed. So I am going to do my own little Olympic thing. Here are my goals:
1) Finish the baby blanket that has been on the needles since January.
2) Work on my Icarus which has been on the needles for almost a year. I am not putting a specific goal on this one because with my attention span lately I am going to be lucky to get a row done correctly.
3) Finish the bib that is on the needles.
4) Start a baby sweater.
I think these are some pretty lofty goals and I may crash and burn. However, no guts no glory or something like that. Until next time ....

Random Stuff
Just a bit of random stuff today. Remember I do not have a working camera available to me until we move.
- Speaking of the move we have 8 days until we sign the lease and start painting. I am SO ready for this to be over and I know Jerry feels that same way.
- Jerry will be working long hours this week at the PGA Championship so I will be alone most nights until 9 or 10pm. I was a little upset but now I realize that I better enjoy the alone time and especially the quiet while I can.
- I have planned my maternity leave and barring anything happening that will require me to leave earlier my last day at work will be August 29th. I am REALLY looking forward to that day!
- We toured the Ob floor last Wednesday and I am very happy that we chose Beaumont as our hospital. Jerry especially likes the Starbucks in the lobby - that will come in handy if this labor is really long.
- I finished my latch hook yesterday and now I need to figure out how to frame or hang it. If I had a camera I would show it to you but you're just gonna have to wait.
- Finally, today was my baby shower. It was a wonderful day of family and friends. Jerry and I feel very loved and know how lucky our pumpkin is to have so many people who care about him/her. If you are local and looking for a place to have an even I highly recommend the Champps in Troy. The waitresses were wonderful and the manager even opened the back door for us to take the gifts out. One of the waiters, who was off duty, helped Jerry load gifts into the van. These people really went above and beyond the call of duty and it was a wonderful day.
