While reading my blog list this morning I came across Carol's post about sharing 3 things she is thankful for every Thursday this month. Then I came across Margene's list and felt the need to join along. I, like so many of us, get mired down in our own problems and issues that we forget that we have so many blessings in our lives. So here is my first list for Thankful Thursdays.
1) I am thankful that Clark came through his asthma attack last week and is getting better every day.
2) I am thankful for my dear hubby who is my best friend and my rock.
3) I am thankful that my father was not hurt in a car accident yesterday.
I hope you all decide to take up the challenge and look for the blessings in your own lives. Until next time ....
P.S. I hope you like the new layout. The pink was starting to hurt my eyes and I felt the need for a change. I am really liking it so I hope you enjoy it as well.

Happy Halloween!
I had a mouse in my house tonight but I let him stay because he was so darn cute! We did not get to take Clark out trick or treating this year. He ended up in the hospital Thursday with an asthma attack. Having your baby sent to the ER via ambulance because he needs oxygen is not something I care to repeat again. We decided to play it safe and keep him home this year. Hopefully next Halloween will be less dramatic! Until next time ....

I have an idea or two
I don't know about you but some of the most stressful times of my life have begun with me saying "I have an idea." However, this never stops me from doing anything. My first idea was to knit Clark a vest to wear on Christmas and in the picture for our card. After struggling with the pattern math I decided to change patterns. I am now using the Kick It Up pattern with some Good Shepard Tulip Tweed I picked up at the Salvation Army in Houghton a couple of years ago. I am about 5 repeats into the pattern and I am really happy with it.

Now this should be enough for me considering how close to Christmas we are and the lack of knitting time I have but nope. I have also decided that Clark needs a knit toy for his stocking stuffer this year. So I started a Sheldon using some of my leftover dishcloth cotton. Here is the start of the little turtle's head.

As of right now my plan is to knit a vest and toy for Clark every Christmas but we will see how this year goes first. Until next time ....

Sugary Fun
One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to go to the cider mill. This year we got to take Clark for the first time. Yesterday we headed to Yates since it is 5 minutes away and had cider, cinnamon donuts and apple crisp. Clark liked the cider but he LOVED the sugary donuts.

Now we just have to wait until next year. He will be old enough then to feed the animals which should be fun. Until next time ....

Too Short (And I'm Not Talking About the Rapper)
So I have been plugging away at my Summertime Socks while watching my ball of yarn dwindle. Then it happened. About an inch from starting the toe decreases I ran out of yarn. Of course Knitpicks has discontinued this colorway. I have sent a message to someone on Ravelry who has this yarn listed as willing to sell/trade but I have not heard back yet. If I can't get more I will have to improvise something.

I was so looking forward to having a FO since I have not had one since June. Oh well. Now I am swatching for another project for Clark. I have never swatched before and it is boring but since I am adjusting the size I have to do it. Until next time ....

Winning is Good
A while ago I entered a comment on Deb's blog to help her get to her 14,000th comment. Well little did I know that I was the 14,000th commenter and won her contest. I rarely win anything so I was pretty surprised. Last weekend her package arrived.

She is in the process of weeding out some of her books (take a look at her for sale items she has some great stuff) and forwarded some of them my way. They have been added to my to be read pile on my nightstand and can not wait to get started. Thanks Deb!
Next time I will kvetch to you all about my yarn (or lack there of) issues. I have learned my lesson the hard way. Until next time ....

It's October Again?!
I keep meaning to post but time gets away from me. I can not believe that it is October already. Before we know it we will be celebrating Christmas and ringing in 2010. Even though I haven't been writing I have been knitting.

I finished my first Summertime Sock last week. I am already ready to turn the heel of the second sock. I do find it ironic that these are almost finished just in time for 30 degree weather (in the mornings at least) but I am really trying not to think about that.
Once these are finished I plan on casting on for the 2009 Mystery Sock KAL. I think this is a great way to celebrate Socktoberfest. I will save the details for my next post. Until next time ....
