Ten on Tuesday

I have been asked recently where I find these topics each week. Carole is nice enough to provide us with the topics each week. She has a button on her blog where you can subscribe to her email notification and you wll receive an email with the topic a few days in advance.

The topic for this week is 10 Favorite Mystery Books. Carole states this can be a single book, author or series. This one will be easy peasy for me because I love mysteries and it is my favorite book genre.

1) Defending Jacob by William Landay – I just finished this book and it was very good. It is the story of an assistant district attorney in a well to do Massachusetts county whose life is turned upside down when his 14 year old son is accused of murdering a classmate.
2) The Pennsylvania Dutch series by Tamar Myers – this series revolves around Magdalena Yoder, a Mennonite innkeeper in Pennsylvania, and the craziness that surrounds her.
3) The Savannah Reid series by G.A. McKevett – the life and times of a food loving voluptuous PI in southern California.
 4) The Knitting Mystery Series by Maggie Sefton – the story of Kelly Flynn, CPA, and her group of knitting friends from the House of Lambspun in Colorado.
5) The Seaside Knitters Series by Sally Goldenbaum – the mysteries that suround yarn store owner Izzy Chambers and her group of knitting buds.
6) The Torie O’Shea Series by Rett MacPherson – this series follows genealogist and amateur sleuth Torie O’Shea and the goings on in her small Missouri town.
7) Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier – creepiness at its best.
8) The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins – I listened to this one with the Craftlit podcast and I think hearing it read aloud really added to the mood.
9) Dracula by Bram Stroker – another one I listened to through Craftlit. Again hearing it read aloud really added something to it.
10) The Sugar Maple Series by Barbara Bretton – the story of witch and yarn store owner Chloe Hobbs and the adventures in her small enchanted town of Sugar Maple, Vermont.
