It is Wednesday again so it is time to answer Joyce's Hodgepodge questions.
1) Are you more life of the party or more party pooper? If your answer is somewhere in the middle which side of the middle do you lean towards more?
I am definitely not the life of the party but I don't think I am a party pooper either. I always say that I won't rain on anyone's parade I just don't want to be a part of it.
Birthday party, beach party, cocktail party, dinner party, charity fundraiser, surprise party, costume party, garden party, Christmas party, reunion ... what's your favorite kind of party?
None of these - I love a good wedding reception.
2) Cheese, wine and Balsamic vinegar all improve with age. What would you personally add to the list?
My marriage. After almost 22 years I feel that we are stronger than ever.
3) How do you feel about your birthday? How do you want to be celebrated? Or don't you?
I do enjoy my birthday. I usually try to take the day off of work and it is 1 of 2 days of the year I refuse to cook (the other being Mother's Day). I prefer to have a low key celebration with my guys. I have already told my husband and my oldest that if my sister even brings up the idea of having a big party for my 50th next year they need to shut that down immediately!
4) What remarkable feat, piece of trivia, or historical event occurred on your birthday and month? Not necessarily your same birth year, just the same date/month.
My birthday is June 26th. On that day in 1927 the Cyclone roller coaster opened on Coney Island. I share my birthday with Derek Jeter, Chris O'Donnell, Patty Smyth, Nick Offerman and Ariana Grande.
5) Share two good things about your life right now.
That my A1C went from 11 to 8.3. That is still higher than the goal of 7 or below but I am heading the right direction. The other is that we are almost a month into the school year and I have been able to keep my routines going.
6) Insert your own random thought here.
We are 2 weeks into flag football for Preston and he is really enjoying it. The kids are so stinking cute! It is like mass chaos sometimes but we find it pretty entertaining.

Good for you getting that number down.I bet those little football players are fun to watch. I've never had a surprise party and am not sure how I'd feel about it. My husband surprised me on my 40th with a weekend away and I had no clue. He had arranged for my mom to come stay with the kids and packed my bag and then showed up at my work and I took the rest of the day off. People at work knew about it ahead of time too. It was the nicest kind of surprise because of the thought that went into it.
Oh yes! I love a good wedding reception too. There is always so much cheer and happiness for the happy couple.
Great answer for #3. I feel the same about birthdays and refuse to cook on mine!
