Wednesdays Are For the Hodgepodge

Joining up again with Joyce and the other Hodgepodgers to answer today's questions.

1) Next Sunday is Grandparents Day. Share a favorite memory, photo, recipe, or something you learned from a grandparent.

We used to visit my maternal grandparents every summer in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Some of my favorite memories of these trips are going out on the pontoon boat, making s'mores and going to the dump and watching the bears.

2) What's a quote from a book (besides The Bible) that has stayed with you?

There's nothing that comes to mind.

3) What's your number one food pet peeve?

My food touching. My husband says that I am a food racist since I don't like my foods mingling.

4) What's one thing about you that is still the same as it was when you were younger?

That I feel things very strongly which can sometimes cause me problems.

5) September is National Preparedness Month ... does your family have an emergency plan? Do you have some sort of preparedness kit you keep on hand?  If so, tell us one thing that's kept there.

We really are not prepared at all for an emergency. This is something we really should do. I am not good in emergencies so having a plan would be one way for me to handle them better.

6) Insert your own random though here.

The weather is turning cooler and the sun is coming up and setting later. I am really not prepared for this!

What a lovely memory of time spent with your grandparents!
hehehe! That did make me chuckle about what your husband says about your food touching. I am going to say that to my daughter, she feels the same about her food touching.

I'm clinging to summer still too. We've had cool weather but are supposed to be in the 90's on Saturday and I'm not mad about it. I'm normally anxious for fall to get here, but I've enjoyed the pace of summer this year and am not quite ready to see it go. Have a nice weekend!
