I am once again joining in on the Hodgepodge.
1. St. Patrick's Day lands on March 17th. Do you believe in luck? Are there things you do thinking they'll bring good luck or things you avoid because they're considered bad luck?
I do believe in luck but I also feel that we can do things to approve our luck. I do tend to knock on wood and won't open an umbrella inside.
2. Forest-lime-sage-mint-olive-emerald...what's your favorite shade of green?
I like a dark forest green and emerald green as well.
3. In Ireland the meal on this day is often a hearty beef or lamb stew served with colcannon (mashed potato mixed with cabbage and leeks). In the US corned beef and cabbage is the more typical St. Patty's Day meal. Will you/did you mark the day with one of these dishes? Baked-fried-roasted-mashed...what's your favorite way to eat a potato?
I was planning on making Irish stew and soda bread but I was not up to cooking yesterday so that didn't happen. I love potatoes and eat them any way. Baked potatoes are not my favorite but I will eat it if served.
4. What color of the rainbow best represents your personality/mood today? Tell us why.
I am going to say blue not because I am sad but because I am calm and I have always heard that blue is a calming color.
5. Which 'lucky' quote resonates with you. Elaborate.
'Diligence is the mother of good luck." Benjamin Franklin
'Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.' Seneca
'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.' Ralph Waldo Emerson
I would say the Seneca quote. I think this best sums up my belief that luck exists but that we can always do things to improve it in our lives.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I was able to be a mystery reader in Preston's class today. It was fun and the kids were asking my hilarious questions after. Nothing about the book I read of course but things like my favorite shoes and if I play chess.

It's fun to be a guest reader. I made the traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage but no bread. We did have some at an event on Friday night so I got a taste. It's so good. Have a nice week!
Ahh! Knocking on wood, I do that too, it's better to be safe than sorry. lol
I always feel like blue is a calming colour.
It sounds like you had fun being the guest reader.
So funny about the questions from the kids! So inquisitive!!!
You can open the umbrella inside, but don't put it over your head :-) I'm sorry you are feeling sad. I hope things will be better for you soon. What fun that you got to go to Preston's class! :-)
