Books Read - 1st Quarter 2026

I am still working on getting my reading mojo back and it has been rough going at times. For the 1st quarter of 2026 I read the following 4 books.

1) Death of a Ghost Writer (Wye Valley Widows Book 1) by Gaynor Torrance: a nice and easy cozy mystery. Two of the main characters learn that they are married to the same man who also has a 3rd wife. Eventually they learn that the husband has been murdered and they must solve the mystery.

2) 10% Happier by Dan Harris: part memoir part self-help book this is an interesting look at how meditation can help us move through our lives with ease.

3) Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss and the Musical 'Rent' by Anthony Rapp: I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the origins of my favorite musical Rent from the original Mark. I will say that I was reading this book around the anniversary of my mom's death so reading about him also losing his mom hit me pretty hard.

4) Why Has Nobody Told  Me This Before? by Julie Smith: this book tells us how to deal with the many problems we face in our lives that are very common but we rarely talk about. It did have a few good options for how to handle these different issues.
