A Letter

Dear Asshat Parents of the Little Girl at Daycare:

Look I know it is tough. Maybe you can't call into work for some reason. In this economy everyone is afraid of being laid off so maybe that is why you did it. Maybe you have no one else to watch your child for you, I am in the same boat so I understand. However, this is now the THIRD TIME since November that you have brought your kid to daycare sick and she has shared he germs with my son. Thanks to you I now have a 5 month old with a fever, congestion, who is sneezing and coughing up some nasty looking stuff. However, you will notice that we KEPT HIM HOME YESTERDAY SO HE DID NOT INFECT ANYONE ELSE. You may want to try it sometime.

Sincerely,
Clark's Pissed Off Mom

PS Since I also got sick the last two times she infected him I am looking forward to getting this cold also.

PPS Happy Valentines Day.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled entry ....

So I was planning on writing an entry about a finished object but that will not happen today. I could tell you a funny story about how my bosses decided that the best way to stop the vent above my desk from blowing COLD air on me was to wrap it in stretch film (basically glorified Saran Wrap). However, there's a very serious issue I want to rant about so please stop reading and come back next time if you can not handle salty language or a rant of epic proportions.

If you did not click on the link to the article above or if you have not yet heard about this yet I will give you a basic rundown. There is a woman in the metro Detroit area who chased her children through her trailer, caught them and sliced their throats. Yes, that is correct she CHASED them through the house and SLIT THEIR THROATS!! She also stabbed her 3 dogs and the children's pet mouse. Now of course they are saying that she is seriously mentally ill and that maybe but this rant actually has nothing to do with the mother - my problem is with the family. These fucking idiots knew what was happening and they did NOTHING! She had no electricity or water but they let those girls live there in squalor. The mother told her sister that she was going through hell, hearing voices and that those voices were telling her to do bad things. What did this sister do after this revelation? Obviously she did not do a damn thing! When the sister came over the next day and found her nieces dead what did she do? Well give her credit she did call 911 (after they had been dead for 11 hours) and told the operator that she was glad that she had not spent the night like the mother had asked her to because it could have been her. What the fuck is up with that? Does she not realize that as an adult she had a better fucking chance at stopping this attack than two little girls who were 8 and 5? Now of course they are charging her with 1st degree murder - as they should - but what about this family? Shouldn't they be charged with something? This seems like negligence to me but what do I know. All I know is that this story has really affected me. As someone who wants to have kids but may not be able to because of a medical condition these stories break my heart. People if you you can not take care of a child KEEP YOUR LEGS CLOSED OR YOUR DICK IN YOUR PANTS OR USE BIRTH CONTROL!!! Or keep in mind that there are people out there who would love to adopt your child and give them a better life. Until next time ....

Damn lake effect!

For those of you not from around these parts you may not be aware of the glory of lake effect snow. Basically, when the wind whips across the Great Lakes it produces snow and lots of it. Usually in Detroit we are lucky that we do not get much of the lake effect stuff but today we did. The sad part is it didn't even stick - it just made the ground wet. However, this does not stop the idiot drivers from forgetting that we get the white stuff every year without fail. When I left work today it took me 20 minutes to go, no lie, 3 miles! Now traffic is always bad but it was especially so today. I can already tell this is going to be a LONG winter.

I have been thinking ahead to what projects I want to make once I am done with my fuzzy feet and hiking scarf. I really want to make Lady Eleanor from Scarf Style but I am not sure what yarn I am going to use yet. I also want to make the Fake-A-Gamo bag. Again I'm not sure exactly what yarn I will use yet but I picture it in a dark brown with a dark blue lining sewed into it. Of course at the speed I'm knitting it will be the summer of 2008 before I can start these! Until next time ....
