In my ongoing fight against knitting ennui I went on the search for a simple shawl pattern to knit. I found this pattern that I had queued quite awhile ago that fit the bill. Here is my Gaia Shawl.
Pattern: Gaia Shoulder Hug
Needles: size 4 metal
Yarn: Fibernymph Dyeworks Bounce in Let the Sun Shine Through
Modifications: the original pattern was written for a yarn that has longer color repeats. In the pattern the instructions state to switch between the different sections when the color changes in the yarn. Since my color repeats were pretty short I decided to do 5 rows of each section.
Comments: The yarn is very nice and bouncy like the name implies. I enjoyed knitting with it and the color did not bleed at all when I soaked it. When I was blocking this I noticed 2 dropped stitches. I put them on a
safety pin and once it was dried I laddered them back up. tied them off
and wove in the ends. I cannot tell where they were and I hope my fix
holds. I love the shawl and have worn it several times at work since our office temperature is set at arctic blast. Until next time ....
