A Beachy Wednesday Hodgepodge

Joining Joyce and the other Hodgepodgers for a beachy hodgepodge this week.

1) When does time pass slowly for you? When does time pass quickly for you?

Well the first thing that came to mind when I thought of time passing slowly was while I am at work. I think this is fairly common for most of us. I would also time tends to pass slowly when I am looking forward to something like a vacation or holiday. Time will then pass quickly once the vacation or holiday arrives. Time also passes quickly when I get in a zone while doing something I love like knitting, reading or being with my family.

2) Do you have a favorite beach? What's your favorite 'beach' activity? Tell us what we'd find in your beach bag.

My favorite beach is a small beach near where our house was in Lac La Belle in the Keweenaw Peninsula. I have many memories of swimming there and having cookouts with my family as a kid. I love to walk the beach with the wave lapping at my feet while looking for shells or rocks. In my bag would be a towel and a good book.

3) Your favorite book or movie with a beach setting?

I remember loving Summer Rental as a kid. Other than that there is nothing I can really think of.

4) What's a food you love, but find it's a pain to eat? Is it worth it?

I love corn on the cob with butter and salt. However, I usually end up with butter and salt all over my face. I do find it worth it but I would try to avoid eating it when I am around people I do not know very well.

5) Do you love roller coasters? What's the best (or worst) roller coasters you've been on?

I loved roller coasters when I was younger. I have not been on one in at least 25 years so I do not know how I would handle one now. When I was in my teens and early 20s I would go to Cedar Point. I loved the Iron Dragon (which is pretty tame I will admit), Magnum, Corkscrew and Gemini.

6) Insert your own random thought here.

I have the day off tomorrow and have decided that Preston and I will go to the Sea Life Aquarium. I asked Clark if he wanted to go with us. He usually says no but I always want to extend the invitation. I was pleasantly surprised when he said yes. So we will go aquarium and lunch tomorrow.

I had to look up Keweenaw to see the location. Always learning something new in the Hodgepodge : ) I hope you had a fun day at the aquarium!

Time does seem to pass really slowly when we are waiting for something fun or exciting! I feel like that now looking forward to August when it's birthday month for my family!
Ahh! I am the same when it comes to corn on the cob, it's so good though!
Have a fab time at the aquarium!

I thought of corn on the cob as a messy food that I love. The funny thing is that I think corn tastes so much better on the cob than any other way though! I loved all those coasters at Cedar Point, though it's been quite a few years since I've been there. Hope you're having a great week!
