Wednesdays Are For the Hodgepodge

Joining up with Joyce and the other Hodgepodgers today.

1. On July 29th 1957 The Tonite Show premiered with Jack Parr as it's host. This marked the beginning of the modern day talk show. Do you watch any daytime or late night talk shows today? Do you have any thoughts on the hubbub surrounding the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, or are you more in the camp of 'who is Stephen Colbert?

I have not watched a daytime or a late night talk show in quite awhile. When I was in high school I would record the Arsenio Hall Show every night and watch it while I was getting ready in the morning. I also watched Letterman for a bit in college. I lovfed the Montel Williams Show and watched it when I got home from school and also watched Dr. Phil for awhile. As far as Colbert I never watched the show but I feel that this is a bad trend. I feel like the company is giving into political pressure which is not something they should be doing in my opinion.

2. What's the best part of your day?

I have a few. In the morning when I am the only one awake and the house is quiet. The end of my workday when I get to relax for a while before making dinner. Laying in bed taling with Preston at bed time.

3. What's something your generation does that you actually dislike?

So I am Gen X so we are the last ferral generation. There really isn't anything that comes to mind. We tend to take no BS from people but I don't think that is a bad thing.

4. When you cook do you clean as you go, or clean it all up once you're finished cooking? What's the last thing you cooked/baked in your own kitchen?

I try to clean as I go as I find it much easier this way. The last thing I made was dinner on Monday night - we had French toast.

5. Sum up your July in ten words or less.

Going by too fast makes me sad.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I am really trying to get my routines going again. I have been pretty successful so far this month. I figured that I needed to get things back in place now when things are calmer. Once school starts at the end of August it will be way harder to try and get things back on track.

I'm a morning person too, and always have been. Even in college I was never the person pulling an all-nighter. Hope you've had a nice day. Thanks for joining in the Hodgepodge!

I liked the Aresenio Hall show too, back in the day. I liked when the shows were actually funny and entertaining, not just one-sided ranting about politics and they all tell the exact same jokes.
Oh I would love to have French toast for dinner - it's not just for breakfast!
Hope you're having a great week!
