Wednesdays Are For Knitting

I am working on my knitting goals that I discussed previously. 

1) I did cast on for the baby sweater for my doctor. I am afraid that I will need to change needles because I the straight needles I used may not leave enough room. I will need to buy some size 7 circulars since the only pair I own are currently in use in my next project.

2) I started working on Clark's blanket again. Unfortunately it seems like counting to 4 was to much for me yesterday so I need to tink back the last row I knit. 

3) Last weekend I did buy some more yarn at Dollar Tree.

Comments: I made this for a co-worker. I love this cute girly pattern. It is very easy to follow and I am sure I will make it again if the occasion arrises.

FO: Just Another Baby Sweater

Once again my work is overrun with pregnant women. One of these ladies works on my team so I of course had to continue the tradition and knit her a sweater.

The pattern is my go to Seamless Yoked Baby Sweater. Since she is having a boy I left off the slip stitch detail. The yarn is Good Shepherd Tulip Tweed that I found at the Salvation Army in Houghton several years ago. The buttons were recycled from one of Clark's shirts that has a hole in it and was thrown away. It was not finished in time for her shower last week and I hope she does not have him before she comes back to the office on Wednesday (she works from home the rest of the week). FO Friday

I have two more FOs that have been completed in the last couple of weeks. First up is an owl puff. Clark has claimed this one as well. He is made out of Paton's Classic Wool in Dark Gray Mix.

Next up is another baby sweater. I made this for another co-worker who is pregnant. I ran out of yarn with 3 rounds left on the second sleeve. I did not want to go out and buy another ball of Pound of Love so I ripped out to rows of the garter section at the bottom and as able to finish the sleeve with maybe 3 inches of yarn left over.

Right now I only have one active project on the needles. I think I need to remedy that this weekend! Until next time ....

FO: Baby Sweater

The final sweater for the baby brigade is finished. This is for one of the managers at work who is having a baby boy next month. The pattern is my go to for baby sweaters - the Seamless Yoked Baby Sweater - and the yarn is Lion Brand's Pound of Love in Turquoise. I still have a lot of this yarn left in both blue and pink so I think some charity knitting maybe happening around here. Details at Ravelry and the FO Blog.











Now to work on some other projects. I think I feel the need to pull out a project that has been lingering for way to long to work on. Until next time ....

A WIP and Some Stash

There is something in the water at work. Last year there were 4 women due within a couple of months of each other. This year we have 5 due between December (those 2 are here already) and February. One of the ladies who is due next month is the manager of the other part of the team I work on (she is not my direct manager). She is due with a little boy next month so I am knitting my go to Seamless Yoked Baby Sweater. The yarn is Lion Brand Pound of Love in Turquoise. I am almost finished with the body and would be further along but the yarn became a tangled mess. The shower is on the 26th so I have plenty of time to finish the knitting, buy the buttons and sew them on.










I also managed a bit of stash enhancement last weekend. I received 2 gift cards to Michaels for Christmas and needed to use them. Then I received a 20% off your entire purchase coupon and I really needed to go. So I managed to get all of this and have $11 left over.











From the top left is some Patons Classic Wool to make another Clark-A-Roni hat and 4 skeins of Caron Simply Soft in Black to make this vest. The second row is a ball of Sugar 'n Cream in Faded Denim, 2 skeins each of Caron Simply Soft in Chocolate and Bone to make pillow covers and to start my lace blanket project and another ball of Sugar 'n Cream in Moondance. The bottom row is a size 8 circular to knit my vest and 2 skeins of Sugar and Cream in Terra Firma and Earth Ombre.

Now I need to finish this baby sweater so I can cast on for a new project. Until next time ....
