When Will This End?

My original plan for today's final NaBloPoMo post was going to be a reflection of what the experience has meant to me. However today's events here in my back yard made me change my plans.

Oxford is only 15 miles from where I live. They placed our schools under lockdown as a precaution but Clark was home sick today. I have not yet told him about this but I will have to before he goes back to school tomorrow.

I can not even imagine the terror these parents, staff and students went through. I can not even fathom the pain the parents of the 3 children who are dead are going through. When will this country wake up and realize that things need to change? A single 15 year old boy with a semi-automatic weapon was able to do this damage in 5 minutes before he surrendered to the school liaison officer. How many of our babies have to die? I also do not want to hear politicians talking about thoughts and prayers. Your thoughts and prayers mean nothing! What we need is change. 

Monday Musings

I can hardly believe that this is the last Monday in November. Where has the month gone? Heck, where has this year gone? Here is what is on my mind this week.

1) Our Thanksgiving weekend was not the best. Preston started feeling better Thursday night into Friday morning. Then on Saturday Clark and I started getting sick. He is actually home from school today and if I had to go into an office I would probably had called in sick. Working from home has its benefits.

2) We were able to pick up hubby's car today. It was a relatively easy fix but we need to keep an eye on it because it could be the start of something bigger.

3) I need to get Christmas shopping. Mostly for Preston since Clark no longer believes in the big guy and if his gifts are not here in time it is not that big of a deal. Plus most of his stuff will probably be gift cards.

Monday Musings

Well well well another Monday is here. This is what I am currently thinking about.

1) I am very glad that this is a short week. I need some serious downtime and we have no plans other than Thursday.

2) We managed to go a month without one of our cars breaking down. Last Friday morning hubby's car died on his way home from work. Nothing like your phone ringing at 2am to make your heart jump into your throat.

3) I really need to get going on Christmas shopping. Preston is easy but I am really struggling with ideas for Clark.

Three on Thursday

Here we are at the end of another week. Here are the things I am currently thankful for.

1) That Clark is ok after the bus scare on Monday.

2) That I have the afternoon off tomorrow and nothing planned.

3) That my hubby took my car today and put air in my tires for me. Now we just need to see why they 2 of them have a slow leak,  

Wednesdays Are For Knitting

I am working on my knitting goals that I discussed previously. 

1) I did cast on for the baby sweater for my doctor. I am afraid that I will need to change needles because I the straight needles I used may not leave enough room. I will need to buy some size 7 circulars since the only pair I own are currently in use in my next project.

2) I started working on Clark's blanket again. Unfortunately it seems like counting to 4 was to much for me yesterday so I need to tink back the last row I knit. 

3) Last weekend I did buy some more yarn at Dollar Tree.
