Finished Objects and New Yarn

So I have been a finishing fool the last week or so. I have completed three projects since last Saturday. The details for these are located here as always.

This is my second MDK Ballband Cloth. I love the contrast of this version much better than the first one.

I finally finished my Irish Hiking Scarf. This will be very warm once the cold weather gets here in a few short months.

Yesterday I finished the knitting on my Fuzzy Feet. Tht little bit of yarn on the right of the picture is all I had left over. I was sweating torwards the end of the toe decreases. Now I just have felt them.

I have also made two stash enhancements.

This is Malabrigio Lace Weight in Purple Mystery. It is purple even if it looks blue in the photo. I bought this at HYAW's Knitter's Night Out last Friday. For $10 this is the softest, yummiest yarn I have felt. There is enough to make a small shawl so I will look for patterns soon.

Today I went to Joann's to buy some ribbon yarn. I want to blend it with some eyelash I have to make a MP3 cozy for my trip to NYC this week.

Speaking of my trip to NYC we leave early Thursday morning so we will be staying at a hotel down my the airport Wednesday night. I do not think that I will be able to update before I leave so I will see you on the flip side. Until next time ....

When it rains it pours

In light of today's tragedies - both national and local - I feel like a heel complaining but I'm going to anyway. The last 6-7 weeks have been very hard on me. I have had health issues, "friend" issues, and work crap. I thought things were finally coming together when this happened. I am getting a frickin cold! My throat is so sore I can hardly swallow and my nose keeps running. I hope this passes quickly because I can not take anymore time off from work right now.

In knitting news I have continued work on my Irish Hiking Scarf. It is getting longer but the damn ball is not getting any smaller. I will also be casting on for the April Mid Month KAL tonight or tomorrow. Now I am off to finish watching Dancing with the Stars and eat some ice cream. Don't look at me like that it makes my throat feel better. Until next time ....

A bit of this and a bit of that

So I have a bit of a hodge podge for you today. My finger is doing much better now and I can knit without much pain. I mean as if work didn't already get in the way of my knitting time this had to happen. However, I did manage to finish another dishcloth.

This is the January Mid Month KAL. This was such a nice pattern I do not know why I waited so long to knit it. I love the cheery Yellow perfect for PS. Details are located here.

Today I wound up the ball of Paton's Classic Wool I dyed last week. I have decided that I am going to make the Sophie bag from Mag Knits. I will cast on as soon as I make some more progress on some current WIPs.

Finally, just in time for this color triad my boys in Green (and white) shock the hockey world and win the National Championship. They beat Boston College 3-1 last Saturday night. It was a pretty boring game for the most part. They were losing until there were only a few minutes left in the 3rd period when they tied it up. The winning goal was scored by Justin Abdelkador (I love that name) with 18.9 seconds left. They added an empty netter and won the third hockey championship in school history.

Well time to get back to the knitting. I have added a few repeats of my Irish Hiking Scarf today while watching movies and TV shows I DVR'd this week. I am now onto the second ball and ready to roll. Until next time ....

No progress made - no pictures to show

So I have hit the black hole of knitting with my Irish Hiking scarf. I am knitting and knitting and it does not seem to be getting any longer. The ball of yarn is getting smaller but the scarf seems stuck. I will keep plugging along though because it is frickin cold and I need a warm wool scarf!

I ripped out my gaterlac dishcloth. I was having a hard time with it and decided to set it aside for awhile. I did cast on for a cloth for my exchange partner from the dishcloth group. I am not sure if I like the pattern or not but I will knit one more repeat before deciding if I want to to keep it or rip it. I still have not touched my fuzzy foot and I have not cast on for my sock for the KAL. I guess I have some work to do. I hope to have some pictures up in my next post - this is getting pretty boring even to me! Until next time ....

Some packages, some frogging and a warning

So it has been an interesting week. I left work early on Friday because I was not feeling very well. After a long nap though I was feeling better so I decided to suck it up and got to Knitter's Night Out at HYAW. Then it was of to Amici's for some more knitting and martinis. I guess I must be getting old because I only had one and I had a wicked headache when I woke up yesterday. It was worth it though. It was a good time and I got quite a bit of work done on my Irish Hiking Scarf.

While I was laying on the couch Friday afternoon the mailman came to the door. A few weeks ago I entered a contest over at Debi's where my uncanny ability to remember stupid pop trivia helped me guess the correct answer. My name was thrown in the random generator and I was lucky enough to win. She put together a wonderful package.

She sent me a ball of Opal, some Kelly yarn that is a cotton and acrylic blend, a nice card from her and the P-Man and 800+ yards of a beautiful merino lace weight.

I am not a big fan of red but this is just a beautiful crimson/ruby colorway and I love it. It is very soft too. I am so glad that hubby bought me that ball winder and swift for Christmas so I can wind this without ruining it. Now I need to find a shawl pattern to make with it.

So I have one FO to show you.

This is what was Fuzzy Foot #2 but it has become FF#1. After looking at the first one I realized that this one was way bigger and that the first one probably would not fit me after it is felted. So tonight I ripped back to the cuff and I will start again. I just hope that I have enough yarn to finish it.

Now I need to be a busy little knitter. I am working on the previously mentioned Irish Hiking Scarf and Fuzzy Foot. I also have a gaterlac dishcloth on the needles and the Knitting Novices sock KAL starts tomorrow and the next dishcloth KAL starts on Tuesday. Wow that is a lot to work on at once but at least I won't get bored. Now for my warning. Please be careful on your way to work tomorrow. We are supposed to get a lot of ice and snow all over the lower half of Michigan tonight so driving tomorrow will be treacherous. I want you all to get to work and back safe so leave early and take it easy. Until next time ....

Upgrade and a FO

So I have upgraded to the new and improved version of Blogger. The cool thing about this is the cool little labels you can use to categorize each post. I love filing and organizing stuff so this is right up my alley. I have already labeled everything in my other blogs because they were pretty easy. However, labeling everything on this blog is going to be harder since I have to go into every post and read them to know what I wrote about. I will keep plugging away at it though and eventually everything will be nice and neat in its own categories.

I also have a FO to show off. This is the December KAL. If you can't tell it is a rocking horse. The details are located here.

Finally, the Winter Knitty is up and there are a couple of cute things I like in there. I like calorimentry, argosy, rolling thunder, venezia and brown bag. Some of these will be on my to knit list. Now i am going to grab my Irish Hiking scarf, a cup of cocoa and watch the special 2 hour Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Until next time ....
