Irish Hiking Scarf and Some FOs

So I am making pretty good progress on the Irish Hiking Scarf.

This is a great project for a cable virgin. It is very easy and I love the way it is coming out. I am using Cascade 220 in a beautiful dark plum color. Here is a closeup of the cables

I can not believe how incredibly easy this project is. I was kind of intimidated by cables and now I can not wait to do more cabled projects.

I have also update my FO blog with the two bookmarks I made while on vacation. I sprayed them with regular spray starch and it stiffened them up wonderfully. The bonus is that a huge can of the stuff only costs $1. I also added my August KAL for the dishcloth group that I finished last night. It was a cute and easy pattern.

Now I need to get back to knitting my scarf and watching the AMC enhanced version of one of my all time favorite movies. I I love the enhanced version because it gives you great trivia and interesting facts about the movie - I love that stuff. Also, for you fellow Michael J. Fox fans out there I highly recommend his memoir - it is amazing. Until next time ....

Beautiful scarf!! I love the color (I'm a purple nut too!). Your lace bookmarks came out great---were they very time intensive?? I keep thinking that they would make great gifts but never seem to CO for them.

I LOVE this pattern, it was one of my first cable patterns along with the "Coronet" hat off of Knitty. I was intimidated by cables until I did this and now I've made two of them and have yarn waiting to make another. It's a fairly quick knit as well. Yours looks great! Love the color.. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog.
