The Big 3-0

So I am now the big 3-0 (well technically not until 11:17 pm) but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I am just trying not to be obsessive like I always am. I am also not beating myself up for not being where I thought at 20 I would be when I was 30. In a lot of ways my life is better than I thought it would be 10 years ago. I am not going to look back - only ahead.

The hubby and I had a nice time in Toronto over the weekend. I also had today off of work so my birthday weekend has been wonderful. Tomorrow hubby is taking me up to Skeins on Main to pick up something for my birthday since all their Rowan is 20% off. I am still a Kidsilk Haze virgin so I may have to change that. Of course my budget may not like that though. I was also able to get my bookmark exchange package in the mail so I hope my partner likes it.

I finished the June Mid-Month KAL yesterday at the IKEA cafe in Toronto while hubby shopped. We are the opposite of most couples - I hate shopping and he loves it. As always the FO details are here. So that's it for now - until next time ....

Not much progress

There has not been much knitting progress going on at Chez Crazy Knitting Fool. I did finish my book mark for my Great Bookmark Exchange partner but I can not show it yet. I am still searching for something special I want to put in the package but I do want to get it in the mail to her as soon as possible. Other than that not much is going on with the needles around here. I will try to get my butt in gear so I can update something soon. Until next time ....

Exchange Goodies

On Thursday my hubby came in with the mail and told me I had a package in the mail. I was excited because I knew it was my Great Bookmark Exchange package. I opened it giddily and here's what was inside.

A note from my partner Tracey, The Weight of Water by Anita Shreve, the beautiful bookmark she made, a skein of Wool-Ease in Wood (a color I have looked at several time at Joanns) and a skein of Patons Cha Cha in Disco. Here is a closeup of the beautiful bookmark Tracey stitched for me.

Thanks Tracey! I am almost done with your bookmark - I hope to have it in the mail to you by the end of the week. Until next time ....

Uh .... do you think I'm in trouble?

Because I just HAD to post today - 06/06/06. Today doesn't scare me like it does other people *cough Jerry cough* I actually think it's interesting. Maybe it's because I was born on 06/26/76 and lots of people told me I must have the mark that it doesn't bother me. No I do not have the mark anywhere on me just so you know. Also, it satisfies my number OCD properties like 01/02/03 and 05/05/05 did. I love number patterns - I have no idea why.

Other than that I don't have much to say. I did finish the June KAL for the dishcloth group (details here). I am still working on my shawl and am hoping it will be done. I scrapped the mock cable dishcloth and started on the baby fern stitch cloth from the dishcloth boutique. That's about it - now I am off to set the DVR to record Queer Eye and I am off to bed. Until next time ....
