The Time Has Come

It is no secret that once you become a mom you tend to put yourself last. You become so focused on taking care of your child that your own health and are put on the back burner. This is something that I have been doing for the past 2 years since Clark was born. I have been in denial about the weight that is going on my body and what is going on inside of it. I finally have realized that I cannot go on like this. The time has come to take control of my health.

I have been making some small changes over the past couple of weeks. Eating only one piece of toast with peanut butter for my AM snack instead of two, not having seconds at dinner and not eating anything after 8pm are just a few. I know myself well enough to know that major drastic changes will never work for me. I just do not have enough willpower to sustain those dramatic changed over time. I have also started to work out. The past week I have managed to walk 6 out of 8 days. I hate walking in our neighborhood since we have no sidewalks and our road is curvy and people drive way to fast so I have been doing the Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds DVD that I got from the library. She is really annoying but it works for me. Jerry found a Wii at a Salvation Army a couple of weeks ago for $25 and also found a Wii Fit DVD a few days ago. Now we just need to get a board and we will be all set. I know this is going to be a long journey. I would love to get back to the weight I was in high school even though that is still about 20 pounds over my ideal weight for my height. That means I have almost 80 pounds to go. I am just taking things one day at a time. Until next time ....

That's great! Congrats. Can't give from empty, so we have to take time to take care of ourselves.
