Ravellenic Frustrations

I am experiencing some serious frustrations with my Ravellenic project and I am doubting my ability to finish on time. Now I did cast on and knit during the opening ceremonies. Last Sunday I finished the ribbing on the back and started on the lace cable portion. I cruised along and finished on Wednesday. Then came the armhole decreases which are apparently trying to kill me. I cannot get the lace pattern to line up correctly no matter what I do. Here is a picture although since it is black you cannot really see the problem very well.

I have knit and ripped back so many times I have lost count. No matter what I try the patterning just will not work. I finally cut the yarn and started on the ribbing for the front because I will never finish if I don't get a move on. I sent a PM on Ravelry to the designer for assistance so I am hoping she will answer. If not then I will ask for assistance at knit night on Wednesday. Unless one of you out there wants to take a look at the pattern and help me out. I am feeling really dumb that I can't figure this out as I am usually pretty good at reading my knitting. Oh well I am moving on and hope it will all work out in the end. Until next time ....

i hate when that happens! :P i went to rav and saw that there was at least one person you could possibly message too regarding the pattern. I checked out the pattern and here's my question, are you still doing the basic pattern while you're doing the armhole decreases? It doesn't specifically say to do that in the pattern. But I could be wrong. Trust the pattern. (I have to tell myself that often!!)

I'm not doing Ravellenics this year. Just the name change alone would have taken the joy out of it for me, but I just plain don't have time...

I'm glad someone else is able to help!!

Well, you are brave to knit black lace! I would have to second the advice of "trust the pattern." Have you checked on Rav to see who else has or is knitting it? Sometimes you can get great information that way.

Ravellenics was a first for me this year, and I don't think I'll do it again. It's so complicated, and kinda stressful :-S

Hope you can get your lace to behave :-)
