My knitting output for the first quarter of 2022 was much better than my reading output. I managed to finish 8 projects for the quarter. Of course I knit fairly small things but I am still happy about this number. Here is what was finished. As a warning the links are for Ravelry if you have issues with the site.

Wednesdays Are For Knitting

Even though I only knit about 5 rows per day I have managed to finish a couple of things the past couple of weeks.

 

The preemie hat for October. Although it was not finished until the 4th of November.
 

This is a gift dishcloth to join a Christmas themed dishcloth bundle. 

Not a ton but every little bit counts.

Comments: a cute and easy pattern. The yarn is a bit on the kinky size and will need to be unwound from itself once in awhile but not bad for $1.

Comments: I used the Very Easy Guide to Cable Knitting for the cable patterns. I used the Mock Gull Stitch, Elongated Cable, Cable and Braid and Staggered Cables. I plan to write these up and publish them for free on Ravelry at some point.

FO: Spa Set #2

The FO parade is almost over. These are more recent FOs – these were finished on October 1^st.

Patterns: Double V Dishcloth, Lace Zig Zag Dishcloth and Little Shells Dishcloth

Comments: all three patterns were nice and easy to memorize

 

FO: Spa Set #1

I am really far behind on posting my FOs. I finished these back in the middle of August. Oh well better late than never right?

Patterns: Garter Drop Stitch Ensemble, Lace Columns Square and Summer Splash
Needles: size 6 bamboo
Yarn: Sugar 'n Cream in Crown Jewels Ombre
Modifications: None
Comments: I really enjoyed these patterns. They were all easy to memorize but manage to keep your interest. These will be going in my Etsy shop once I get off my booty and get it open.

FO: Scrappy Cabbage Patch Cloth

I am way behind on posting this one. I finished this in the middle of July in another attempt to get my mojo back.

Comments: this is a nice pattern. It has interest but is easy to memorize. Until next time .... 

FO: Scrappy Happy Dishcloth

In my quest to rid myself of my knitting ennui I decided that I needed a quick and easy project. I found some scraps of dishcloth cotton in my stash and decided to knit myself a dishcloth.

Pattern: Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth
Yarn: different Sugar 'n Cream scraps
Needles: Clover bamboo size 6
Modifications: I did a KFB increase instead of the traditional YO. I copied this idea from Ross of the Smells Like Yarn podcast.
Comments: A quick and easy project. I have yet to see if this has cured the ennui.

FO: Teacher Sets

For end of the year gifts I decided to again knit washcloths for Clark's teachers and bus drivers. I did not take a picture of all of the cloths together but you can see them on my Ravelry page.

I used several different patterns for these. Two favorites - DW Dishcloth and Grandmother's Favorite - and some new ones. The new patterns were Grandmother's Waffle Dishcloth, All Washed Up and Reversible Pips Dishcloth. I really enjoyed the patterns. They were all easy to memorize and good TV knitting. The yarn was good ole Sugar 'n Cream. Clark helped to pick out some of the colors and was very excited to give his gifts. Another successful gift knit done. Until next time ....

FOs: Little Fountains Dishcloth and Gray Pearl Bowls

After my Ravellenic fail I decided that I needed some quick and easy projects to finish. I found two that fit the bill.

First up - Little Fountains Dishcloth.

I liked this pattern - it was easy to memorize but not boring. This will go into the gift box and will probably be a teacher gift for the end of the year.

Next up are the Gray Pearl Bowls.

I did not add the pearls like the pattern does but I still think they are cute. Bulky yarn on size 13 needles means I knit one of these in less than 2 hours.

These were a nice pick me up and it seems that they helped my knitting mojo come back Until next time ....

FOs: Spa Cloths

Continuing on with the gift parade I decided to do spa cloths for my sister and sister-in-law. I gave them each two cloths with a nice body wash. For my sister I made:

FO: Miss Amanda's Birthday Gift

Clark LOVES his pre-K teacher Miss Amanda. So when she let it slip that she had a birthday coming up I had to make her something.

The patterns are Ballband Dishcoth, Slippery Zig Zag Cloth and A+ Teach. I made these out of Sugar 'n Cream in Field of Dreams and Mod Purple. All in all these were a quick and easy knit gift to make and she really liked it. Until next time ....

FOs: Up North Kniting

I am so far behind on posts that I am just now getting around to writing about my knitting from vacation a month ago. I did not knit as much this year because Clark is more into playing together so we built many castles out of blocks and played board games. However I did manage to finish: An afghan square. I am now on the last color of the blanket - this is called Autumn Red

Textured Heart Dishcloth out of Sugar 'n Cream in Damask Ombre. I love the finished product but this one killed my hands.

Camo Beach-Ball Dishcloth in Sugar 'n Cream in Pink Camouflage.
