Thinking About My Queue

I have been thinking a lot about my Ravelry queue lately. I have been fighting off the urge to cast on a ton of projects so I have been scrolling through my queue quite a bit. Last weekend I also sorted and organized my yarn stash and the printed patterns I have collected over the years. Finally yesterday I went through the patterns I had saved on my computer and queued the ones I was still interested in making.

In doing this I have realized that while I have printed saved and queued these patterns for years I have not knit the vast majority of them. There are things that have been in there for 5 or more years but I still have an interest in knitting them. Plus I have all these books and have knit very few projects from them.

So what do I plan to do about this situation? Well I plan on actually working my queue. I will start at the top and work my way down. I also plan on pulling my books and finding projects to knit from them. I may not knit everything in order because I may not be in the mood to knit one of them or I may not have the funds to buy the pattern or yarn to make something but I do plan on being more diligent about actually knitting the patterns that caught my eye. Until next time ....

Drive By Blogging

Just a quick update.

1) I am still working my way through Ravelry. I am having so much fun looking at other people's projects that I have not uploaded most of my own! I did get my 3 current WIPS (Icarus, Yarn Harlot's Basic Sock Recipe and His Hat) in but nothing older. I think I need a plan of attack but I am to tired to come up with one.
2) I did not get to work on my Ravelry account because I had a busy weekend. MSU football on Saturday afternoon, 50th anniversary party for my aunt and uncle that evening and another party with my family on Sunday. It was nice to see my aunts, uncles and cousins who I do not get to see very often.
3) Yesterday was spent recovering from the weekend. I ate really badly and got totally off schedule with my meals so I felt like crap all day. I still have a slight headache and feel crabby but I hope all the bad stuff is processing through my system.
4) This upcoming weekend is going to be crazy also. I have another MSU football game Saturday at noon, the Rocky Horror Show Saturday night and Stitch and Pitch on Sunday afternoon. I am tired thinking about it already!
5) If you are in the area and free on the 15th please come to Knitterpalooza. This is going to be so much fun. There will be a yarn crawl, prizes and BBQ. Check out Amby's blog for details.

Until next time ....

I am overwhelmed!

So Amby and Tina were right! I received my Ravelry invite last night. Please look me up, my name is bluedolphin. There is a reason behind that name but I am not ready to explain just yet. I have no idea what to do on there first. However, I can totally see how this is a time-sucker like everyone says. I am off to play now!
