FO: Clark's Valentine Hearts

I try to make the little man something for each holiday. I was not finding any toys that I wanted to make so I ended up looking for heart patterns instead. Clark loves stringing things across the house so a heart garland was decided upon.

Pattern: Ewe Ewe Heart Heart by Heather Walpole

Needles: Size 6 bamboo

Yarn: Bernat Softee Chunky in Pink, Caron Simply Soft in Strawberry, Lion Brand Pound of Love in Bubble Gum and Mystery Wool in Red

Miscellaneous: Fiber Fill and a piece of black yarn to string them onto

Modifications: none

Comments: this was a very easy pattern to make. If I were to make theses again I would use a smaller needle for the red ones. I am pretty sure the mystery wool is a fingering weight so the size 6s were to big and you can see a bit of the stuffing through the stitches. He is happy with it though and that is all that matters.

FOs: Pink-tober Neckace and Bracelet

I have now completed all my KAL projects for the month. The last two projects are also for the Pink-tober KAL with the Knit Nerd Podcast.

First up is my Pink-tober Necklace. The yarn is Incredible from Lion Brand and the bead is an oldie but a goodie from my stash.

The second piece is also from Lion Brand Incredible and it is the Pink-tober Bracelet.

These were very quick and easy projects and would be great stash busters - which is exactly what I used them for. Until next time ....

FO: Celtic Cable Neckwarmer

Another KAL project has been completed. This one is for the Retro Lemon Studio Fall Accessories KAL. This is my Celtic Cable Neckwarmer.

This was my first time using a chart for a cable pattern and it proved to be a bit difficult for me. I think it was the fact that you have to view all 4 stitches at a time - my brain had a hard time wrapping around it. I really enjoyed working with the Classic Elite Renaissance but it has been discontinued. I bought the buttons at JoAnns and I loved how they match the Irish theme of the project. All in all I am very happy with it. Until next time ....

KAL Madness

Something has come over me and I have joined way to many KALs. At this time I have5 projects on the needles. Of these projects 4 are for various KALs. So without further ado here is what I am working on.

First up are the Fallberry Mitts by Anne Hanson. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Donegal Tweed that I received as a destash prize from Jane. These are for the October Fingerless Mitts KAL with the Student Knits podcast.

Second are what I am calling my Crocus socks. The pattern is the Afterthought Heel Socks by Laura Linneman and the yarn is Loops and Threads Luxury Sock in Crocus. I am a bit nervous about the afterthought heel but it is a technique I have wanted to try for awhile. This is for the Knitabulls September/October Self Stripping Socks KAL.

Third is what I am calling Judy the Precious Pig. My mom's name was Judy and she loved and collected pigs.  Right now I have a head, two ears, a snout and I finished the body last night after this picture was taken. This is for the Pink-tober KAL with the Knit Nerd Podcast.

Finally is my Celtic Cable Neckwarmer for the Fall Accessories KAL for the Retro Lemon Studio Podcast. I am having a hard time with the cable chart on this pattern but I am determined to power through and finish.

So I have been rotating and working on a different project every day. I hope I will be able to finish them in time but it is going to be quite the challenge. Until next time ....
