Reflecting on Socktoberfest

Happy Halloween everyone! We don't get any trick or treaters in our apartment complex so no left over candy for me - not that I need it! Well since tomorrow is November I decided to post about my feelings on Socktoberfest. Even though I did not finish a fuzzy foot (I have not knitted on it since Sunday) I still feel that I have learned a lot. I made my first heel flap, turned my first heel and knit a gusset. Once I progress further I will learn how to make toe decreases and kitchener stitch. All of this I may have eventually learned but this project pushed me to try right away. I am proud of myself for once again pushing my boundaries like I did during the Olympics. I can't wait to finish these so I can get started on actual socks. Maybe I can master the dreaded DPNs enough to finally make hubby his hat!

Hooray, and good for you for pushing to try something new! Soon...soon you'll be a full on sock-knitter (bwah-hah-hah!!!).

Your socks look great! They get easier and are so much fun to knit. I'm glad to hear the job funk is getting better. The economy sucks everywhere--my husband hasn't been able to get a job here.
