Some more FOs for you

So I am off to a pretty good start for PS projects in this color triad. I have been knitting quite a bit lately. Even better than knitting a lot is the fact that I have not had to rip out much.

This is the "infamous" DW dishcloth from knitting nonsense. I saw this Sugar' n Cream colorway, Rosewood, at JoAnn's and had to have it. This pattern is the perfect showcase for the color. The specs are located here.

Friday night I did some more Kool-Aid dyeing. This is a skein of Paton's Classic Wool dyed with Lemon-Lime. I love the color variations that came through. I have no idea what I am going to make with it but I will figure it out eventually. Maybe a small felted bag would work.

I have the DVR set to record Knitty Gritty
every day and I watch it when I get home. Yesterday's guest was Scout and she talked about dyeing using acid dyes to make variegated and self striping yarns. I think I am going to try to do this with Kool-Aid first and then move onto more advanced dyes. I will admit though that the fact she recommends wearing a mask when using these dyes in powder form freaks me out a bit. Oh well I will get over it I guess. Until next time ....

I haven't tried to dye yarn myself, but I too saw that Knitty Gritty. I have big plans to try it in the future, just have to finish some of the other projects I have in mind first.

Everyone is talking about the new season of Knitty Gritty... I wish I had the DIY channel!

I just saw that episode today. I have used kool aide but haven't tried commercial dyes. I know that Knitpicks have some and even sell a color starter kit. I am interested in the board that she used for the self striping yarn. VERY cool.
