Finito

Today is the 30th which meas that it is the last day of NaBloPoMo 2015. I am glad that I decided to take part this year. I like challenging myself ad it feels good to complete one. I have not met many of my personal and arbrtitary challenges lately so I am proud to have finally finished one.

I have been thinking a lot lately about my quest to improve myself in the past few months and why I manage to sabatage myself over and over. Is it because I do not feel like I deserve to succeed? I do have low self-esteem - always have - so that could be. Is it because I really do not want what I think I do? I do not think so but you ever know. Could it be that I am not willing to work as hard as I need to? Another possibility. All I know is that I hope that I can use this small victory to motivate myself to do the things I need and want to do so I can move forward with my plans. Until next time ....

Five on Friday

Well here we are the last Friday in November. I cannot believe Christmas is less than a month away. Clark and I will begin our Advent activities on Tuesday and I need to get some gifts purchased. Here is what is on my mind this week.

1) Last Saturday we had 14" of snow and this week it has been so warm it has all melted.

2) I am starting to think of things we can do on the weekends during the winter. Clark has lost interest in playing at the library and I do not want to spend a lot of money so any ideas are welcome.

3) We had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday and have enjoyed a lazy day at home today.

4) Michigan State has a big game against Penn State tomorrow. If they win it is onto Indy for the Big 10 championship game. Go green!

5) NaBloPoMo is almost over. I am glad I took part but I am ready for a little break.

Here are this week's pictures.

FO: Clark's Spidey Blanket

Needles: size 8
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red and Royal
Modifications: I did not do the crochet webbing because a) I do not crochet and b) I wanted this thing done
Comments: this is huge (55" diameter) and was a beast to knit but he loves it and that is all that matters. The pattern actually is very easy and I would recommend it if you are up for it.

Five on Friday

Another week has come and gone and I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Here is what is on my mind.

1) I am still trying to adjust to the time change. It seems like every year it takes me longer and longer to get through it.

2) Our weather has been wonderful the past week or so but that is coming to an end tomorrow. We are expecting up to 5" of snow and I am not ready for it at all.

3) I am once again behind on life. I am hoping to catch up a bit this weekend and next since I will have a four day weekend with the holiday.

4) We had a wonderful parent teacher conference this week. Clark is making wonderful strides in 1st grade. It seems that he is always asking his teachers how to spell things and hates misspelling things. I know he gets that from me.

5) I have not knit a stitch since Sunday and even then I only did 2 rounds on the leg of the toy I am working on. Maybe this is why I am feeling so crabby.

Here are some pictures for you.

We disguised Tom the Turkey as Spider-man so the farmer cannot find him for Thanksgiving dinner

Clark wrote a letter to his teacher last night

Dear Mrs Schuermann
I love how you are helping me eveing if you learn with me.
I miss you when you go to the hospital today.
I love you always.
You are the best teacher ever.
Love,
Clark

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for the following

1) My husband - he is the most kind, supportive and loving person I know

2) That we had a good parent teacher conference - hearing other people say good things about your kid is always nice

3) That tomorrow is Friday - it has been a long week

Until next time ....

Philadelphia 3-Step Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

I make this every year for hubby's birthday and it is very yummy.

2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1 ready-to-use graham cracker crumb crust (6 oz.)

1) Heat oven to 350°F.

2) Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add eggs; mix just until blended. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

3) Pour into crust. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips.

4) Bake 40 min. or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours.

Thankful Thursday

It is Thursday which means it is time to post three things that I am grateful for this week.

1) Having a good weekend. We went out to dinner on Friday, ordered Chinese on Saturday and then I got some alone time at home on Sunday.

2) I went to knit night yesterday and it was good to go back. Even though I was not sure I wanted to go as I was leaving work I made myself and I am glad I did. I really need to push myself out there more often.

3) Having podcasts to get through my day. If I cannot be knitting or crafting at least I can listen to others talk about their projects.

Until next time ….
