See you on the flip side

A FO and some new stash
Yes I finished the 7th HP book and I will not ruin it for anyone who is still reading. However, I will say that I loved it and it ended how I thought it might. I was pleased that the one person I thought for sure was a goner, besides Harry, did not not die. But now I have a FO to show you.

This is the Golden Snitch Dishcloth from Insanknitty. It was a nice instant gratification project after the never-ending blanket. Details are located here.
I also have some new yarn from Knitpicks to show you.
I bought 8 balls of Swish Superwash in Wisteria to make Bombshell from the Big Girl Knits book. I also bought lace style and I immediately decided I needed to knit everything in it. Finally, to get the free shipping I bought a ball of their new sock yarn , Felici (happy in Italian), in Atmosphere.
This will be a busy week for me. Besides my normal activities I am taking the Drop Spindle class at Ewe-Nique Knits Thursday night and trying to get ready to go leave for our vacation in the UP early Saturday morning. If I do not get the chance to update before I go I will see you the first week of August. Until next time ....

It's Finally Over!!!
My own personal knitting hell is over.

This is the diagonal baby blanket I have been working on, exclusively, for a month now. I am so glad this is over and I will mail it to the parents-to-be sometime this week. Details, if you are interested, are here.
To celebrate the end of the blanket knitting and Harry Potter fever I have started the Golden Snitch dishcloth. I also have my yarn wound, charts blown up and needles ready to start on Icarus. The charts scare me a little but I am determined to make this beautiful lace piece. So next time I will show you my birthday present to myself and what I plan to make with it. Until next time ....

We're in the home stretch now!
So I am FINALLY in the home stretch of this baby blanket. It is not my best work but I just want to FINISH it already. Plus I figure it will be spit up and peed on so a few mistakes are not that big of a deal. So by my next entry I should have a finished object to show off. Of course that is assuming the fatigue and cramps I am getting in my left hand let up soon.
So since I have nothing else to show you I will leave you with some recent purchases I made.

Last week Michael's had a sale on Sugar 'n Cream. I decided to stock up so I can make plenty of dishcloths while I am on vacation at the end of the month.

At the evil empire aka Wal-Mart I bought some more beads. The small one are a pretty copper and the bigger ones are red with an Asian-inspired theme. The red beads will become a bracelet for me.

Finally I made some earrings with the silver and black beads I bought at Jo-Ann's about a week ago. I love these even though they are a little heavy. Once you get used to them it is not so bad.
So I am not updating again until this blanket is off the needles. I hope to see you all before to long! Until next time ....

Pay no attention to the knitting behind the curtain!
So I am attempting to distract you from the fact that I STILL do not have a completed baby blanket. I thought yesterday that it maybe finished by tonight however I had to frog about 5 inches when I found a dropped stitch in the decrease section that was not fixable. Oh well maybe with the holiday this week I will finally be able to finish it. However, I do have some pretty pictures to show you!
My knitting buddy Beth bought me a present for my b-day. She gave me this beautiful needle case that she got at Gifted in Beaumont Hospital. This will come in handy when I pack my knitting to go on vacation later this month.
Friday after work I made a Stop at Jo-Anns. I needed a size 3 circular for Icarus (which I will start when this blanket is done) but of course I could not walk out with just what I needed. I bought a beautiful ball of Sugar 'n Cream called Swimming Pool and some black and metallic beads.

Here is a close-up of the beads. These are very Project Spectrum friendly. I plan on making some stitch markers and earrings out of these. Again once I finish the never ending blanket.

Finally, since this PS color triad includes metallics I had to include a picture of the most important metallics I own. I love my rings even though they need a serious cleaning!
So please tune in to next time to see if our knitter has finally completed her blanket or if she has gone insane from the monotony and sold her entire stash. Same knit time, same knit channel. Until next time ....
