52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #10

So this week was an easy one for me to come up with. I am so grateful to be getting my energy back, slowly but surely. During the last 8 weeks I have been out of sorts. I have been bored out of my mind but not wanting to do anything, including knitting. I have hated sitting at home but did not want to leave the house either. It was a very strange feeling. Now that I have officially entered the 2nd trimester I am waiting for the energy burst and nesting instincts to kick in. Who knows, their maybe a knitting post coming your way soon!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Weeks #8 & 9

So I totally spaced on last week so today you get two things I am grateful for.

1) I am very grateful for a fun and relaxing weekend. On Saturday a bunch of us went to the club Tina has at her house once a month. It was a wonderful day knitting and hanging out with friends. Then yesterday hubby and I went out to breakfast and came home and took a nap. This was the best way to spend a weekend in my opinion.

2) I am so grateful that I read Lolly's post on choosing happiness. The last few weeks at work have been hard on me. There is a lot of tension in our office and I tend to let other people's moods affect me way to much. However, reading Lolly's post made me realize that just because other people choose to be miserable I can not let them get me down. I went through the entire day with that in mind and it was the best day I have had at work in a long time. Now I just need to keep it up!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #7

Today I am grateful for my wonderful husband. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt. I am so exhausted all the time that on the weekends I have no energy to do anything. So what does my hubby do yesterday? The laundry, clean that bathroom and kitchen and vaccums the entire apartment. Plus he never complains about it. The poor guy even cooked his own dinner and did not say a word. How wonderful is he?

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #6

Today I am grateful for all of you. Thanks for the wonderful comments about our little addition. This is such an exciting and scary time I am glad I have you all to "talk" to! Tonight I have picked up my needles for the first time in almost 2 weeks and worked on the blanket for the munchkin. Sometimes it still seems hard to believe that this is happening. Heck if I had not seen the baby on three ultrasounds I probably would still not believe it. Thanks again!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #5

So I guess I need to finally come clean with you all, even though someone knows what is up already. So there is reason why I have been pretty MIA from here and the 'Bou on Wednesday nights. So today I can finally let you all know that I am grateful for being pregnant. Come September there will be a little munchkin invading our apartment. We can not wait!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #4

So today's gratitude post was very easy to come up with. Although I can not go into details at this time (so don't ask!) I am very thankful for one thing. I went to the ER Saturday night with a very scary condition. I am grateful that everything seems to be ok and I am out of the woods. I will reveal all shortly and you will then understand what I mean. Sorry to do that to you but it can not be helped!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #3

So today I am grateful for living on the top floor. In the winter this has definite advantages. This past weekend was bitterly cold here in metro Detroit. However, we were nice and toasty in our third floor apartment. As a bonus since heat rises we can be warm while keeping our thermostat down pretty far. Saving on the heat bill is always something to be grateful for!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #2

So this week I am grateful for health insurance. My hubby and I have pretty much lucked out in the insurance department. We are both on my coverage and I never would have imagined how great of a decision that would have been. My company is based out of New York so my insurance is Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New York instead of Michigan. Now why does that make such a big difference? Well for some people it may not but for couples dealing with infertility it is huge. New York state has mandatory fertility coverage so we are automatically covered for 80% of all fertility treatments. When you thing that one doctor appointment is $140 and an ultrasound is $120 that adds up to quite a bit of savings. So today I am thankful for the New York lawmakers and the fact that 4 years ago we decided to use my insurance.

52 Weeks of Gratitude

So to help myself meet one of my To Dos for 2008 I have decided to start 52 Weeks of Gratitude. Every Monday I will list one thing that I am thankful for. I will try not to repeat myself but I make no guarantees. Please feel free to join me in this is you want to. So today I am grateful for the fact that I can now wake up in the morning and not make myself sick at the thought of going into work. It is amazing what a positive change in upper management can do for morale. Until next time ....
