52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #4
So today's gratitude post was very easy to come up with. Although I can not go into details at this time (so don't ask!) I am very thankful for one thing. I went to the ER Saturday night with a very scary condition. I am grateful that everything seems to be ok and I am out of the woods. I will reveal all shortly and you will then understand what I mean. Sorry to do that to you but it can not be helped!

Wow I am stunned
I was so stunned to hear about Heath Ledger's death today. You never really heard about him going out, drinking and partying, like other Hollywood stars. I think that is why it was more shocking to me. If it was Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan I would not be surprised but this was a stunner. I thought he was brilliant in Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain and I could not wait to see his spin on the Joker in the next Batman movie. I really feel bad for his little girl who is only 2 and will grow up never knowing her daddy. I hope he finds peace wherever he is.

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #3
So today I am grateful for living on the top floor. In the winter this has definite advantages. This past weekend was bitterly cold here in metro Detroit. However, we were nice and toasty in our third floor apartment. As a bonus since heat rises we can be warm while keeping our thermostat down pretty far. Saving on the heat bill is always something to be grateful for!

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week #2
So this week I am grateful for health insurance. My hubby and I have pretty much lucked out in the insurance department. We are both on my coverage and I never would have imagined how great of a decision that would have been. My company is based out of New York so my insurance is Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New York instead of Michigan. Now why does that make such a big difference? Well for some people it may not but for couples dealing with infertility it is huge. New York state has mandatory fertility coverage so we are automatically covered for 80% of all fertility treatments. When you thing that one doctor appointment is $140 and an ultrasound is $120 that adds up to quite a bit of savings. So today I am thankful for the New York lawmakers and the fact that 4 years ago we decided to use my insurance.

So what do we have here?
Could it be a finished object? Why yes it is!
Sorry about the crappy cell phone picture but I am still without my laptop. This is Calorimetry from Knitty. It is made from Plymouth Encore DK in colors 355 and 389. Details will be here. This thing came out huge! I have to overlap the ends about 2 inches to have the thing fit my head. It is more like a hat than a headband. I am not really happy with it but it was only 2 days of knitting so I am not to concerned. I have enough yarn left over that I could probably make another smaller one. I just do not want to do that right now. At least it will keep my head and ears warm when the temps get really low next week. Plus I have not had a FO since September, other than a lonely sock, so I at least finished something.
So now I am working on a secret project so that will make for some pretty boring blog material. I need to get cracking on my second fruit loop sock or my Icarus to have something to talk about. Until next time ....

52 Weeks of Gratitude
So to help myself meet one of my To Dos for 2008 I have decided to start 52 Weeks of Gratitude. Every Monday I will list one thing that I am thankful for. I will try not to repeat myself but I make no guarantees. Please feel free to join me in this is you want to. So today I am grateful for the fact that I can now wake up in the morning and not make myself sick at the thought of going into work. It is amazing what a positive change in upper management can do for morale. Until next time ....

2008 To Do and To Do Not Lists
So I have been seriously contemplating these lists this year. I think that I am ready to make some serious changes in my life and attitude. I feel like I am on the edge of something really exciting and I can not wait. So without any further ado here are my lists.
To Do:
1) Eat much healthier. Remember that vegetables are not the enemy and chocolate is not your friend!
2) Organize and purge the amazing amount of crap we have in this apartment.
3) Make a cleaning schedule and stick to it.
4) Practice spinning at least 3 times a week.
5) Read at least 18 books this year.
6) Be more patient, especially where my wonderful husband is concerned.
7) Be more grateful for the blessings I have in my life.
8) Make my first fitted garment, Bombshell, that i have had the yarn for since June!
9) Work on my jewelry and making the business I want.
10) Be better at commenting on blogs and responding to my comments.
To Do Not:
1) Worry so much about everything.
2) Take everything personally.
3) Feel bad for cutting people out of my life who I needed to get rid of.
4) Cut myself off from the people who truly care about me.
I reserve the right to change and update this list as I see fit. Until next time ....
