Not One but Two

I have not one but two finished objects to share with you. I am amazed that in two nights I managed to complete two projects. Of course it always seems to be feast or famine around here with the knitting.

First up is a baby hat for our daycare lady, Miss Amy. This is to match the baby blanket I finished for her earlier this month. The pattern is the Quick and Easy Baby Hat and it lives up to its name. I used the Magix Loop method for the second time with this hat. The method is ok but I find it a bit fiddly and it will never be my go to way to knit in the round. Details are located here and here.

Next up are my Undecided Socks. This is the Charade pattern and I really enjoyed it. Again it was easy to memorize but interesting enough to keep your interest. The Herringbone pattern made for a tighter fabric so they are a little tighter than my normal socks but that is ok by me. I hate loose and saggy socks! The yarn is Heart and Sole by Red Heart and I snagged it on clearance for $6. The yarn is not to bad and I am interested to see how it wears. Details are located here and here.

Next up a pair of booties for Miss Amy's baby. I also have a lady preganant with twins at work I need to knit for. I also found a pattern I like for Clark's Christmas Vest but it is colorwork and I am a bit scared to try it. I guess I really need to get knitting if I want to finish all these projects, huh? Until next time ....

Undecided No More

To continue showing off my knitting progress I have been working on my Undecided Socks.

Since I took this picture last week I have turned the heel and I am working my way through the gusset decreases. I worked on it today while Clark and I split a blueberry muffin at Panera. I have decided that I do like the colors. They maybe pretty crazy but if you can not wear crazy colors on your feet where can you wear them? Although it has been so hot and humid here the thought of wearing these makes me sweat. However, I know that before I realize it the cold weather will be upon us and I will be glad to have another warm pair of socks to wear on my feet. Until next time ....

They're Growing On Me

I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my Undecided Socks. I finished the first sock Wednesday night and I think they are beginning to grow on me. The sock is a little tight to get on so I will need to make sure that I knit the herringbone pattern looser on the second sock. However, I hate saggy socks and I don't think that will be an issue with these.

Today I decided to rip out my Fake-A-Gamo bag. It has been almost a year since I worked on it and I lost my notes for the pattern. So I will start over again which is ok with me. Clark decided that he wanted to help mama rip out her knitting and I just had to take his picture.

I think we have a yarn bandit on our hands. Until next time ....

Not Quite Sure

I have been knitting away on my next pair of socks. I am making the Charade pattern in Red Heart Heart & Sole Tequila Sunrise colorway. Now when I picked up this yarn I knew these socks would be bright and loud and I was ok with that. However I am not quite sure if these ....

are the ugliest socks in the world or not. No matter what I will keep on knitting because I am stubborn like that. These socks maybe so ugly that only their knitter can love them. Until next time ....

Whats On the Needles?

So I am down to 2 projects on the needles. Well technically 3 but one has been sleeping for quite awhile so we'll just ignore that one. So here is what I have been knitting.

These are my Charade Socks. The yarn is Red Heart (gasp) Heart & Sole in Tequila Sunrise. The yarn is surprisingly nice to work with. I bought it on clearance so I figured $6 was worth the gamble to try it. The color is pretty intense but I figure on your feet you can afford to go a little crazy.

This is my Alix's Prayer Shawl. The yarn was first going to be an Icarus but I just could not get into that pattern. I thought I was finally getting the pattern down but last night I screwed up something so my counts are off again. I am hoping it will be an easy fix but I am a little scared to look at it again tonight.

Finally, our daycare lady does photography on the side. On Friday she did a My Day craft project where she took pictures of the kids doing each activity during the day. She took this picture of Clark playing outside and sent it to me. She said he looked like a little model and I have to agree.

How did I get such a handsome kid? Until next time ....

I Heart October

October is quickly becoming my second favorite month of the year (behind my birthday month of June of course). I love that the weather turns colder so I can wear sweaters, the changing leaves, football, donuts and apple cider. I love Halloween also. Carving pumpkins, roasting the seeds, scary movies on tv, seeing the cute kids dressed up and of course the candy. I always feel the need to start many projects once October rolls around.

Of course this means that I have to start something for Socktoberfest. I was only going to start the Charade socks with my left over yarn from the Fruity Pebbles socks. However, today on Margene's blog I read about the Mystery Sock KAL on Ravelry. Well I love a good mystery so I will also be casting on for these socks at knitting group tonight. This is going to be an interesting month. Until next time ....
