I have joined the great bookmark exchange and these are my answers to the questionnaire.
1. What genre of books do you enjoy most? (i.e. mystery, romance, horror, historical, biographies, autobiographies, fantasy, sci-fi, etc)
I love mysteries, chick lit, historical fiction and some horror.
2. What sort of bookmarks do you like best? (long, short, lacy/elegant, fun/cute, corner, tasselled, etc)
I am up for anything. I pretty easy to please.
3. What are your favorite colors?
I love purple, blues, greens and dark autumnal colors.
4. Are there any colors you don't like?
I'm not big on orange or yellow.
5. What sort of "theme'' would you like your bookmark to be?
I would love anything fun or lacey. A theme bookmark to match the theme of the book would be cool.
6. Are there any "themes'' that you wouldn't like??
Nothing comes to mind.
7. Can you send internationally?
Sure.
8. If your partner wants to send along extra goodies (like tea, candy, cocoa, etc), what do you enjoy? And is there anything you don't like/can't have??
I am a chocolate fiend. I'm not allergic to anything. I don't drink coffee but do drink tea occasionally.
9. What crafts are you going to use to make your bookmarks? Is there a particular craft type you would like to receive? (knitted bookmarks, plastic canvas, etc)
I will be knitting my bookmarks since that's the only crafty thing I really do. I would love to receive any type of bookmark - it will be nice to see what creative wonderful things people can come up with.

Where does the time go?
I can't believe it has been almost two weeks since I last updated. I will try and see if I can recreate what has happened. Last Friday the 19th I left for Dallas. My boss and I had a customer service training to go to. It actually was not that bad going with her. I socialized with people from other offices and did not sit next to her at the training session so I really only had to deal with her on the way there and back. At least on the way back it was late (10 pm our time - 9 pm in Dallas) when we left and she had been up since 4 am so she went to sleep. I was able to read my book in peace. I'm rereading The DaVinci Code before I see the movie and she felt the need to give me her priests opinion and why I should not read the book because her priest said so. Hello - I'm not even Catholic! Why should I care if her priest thinks I should read the book or not? It was hotter than Hades in Dallas - 98 degrees in May. I can only imagine how hot it get in July and August. No thanks - to hot for me.
On Tuesday the hubby got free tickets to the Pistons game from the president of his company. It was such a blast - even though they lost. I banged my thundersticks together so hard I broke one and it deflated. My hubby was nice enough to give me one of his - he's so sweet! I took my camera but we were not in the good seats we normally sit in so they are sort of far away.

Here is Shaq being introduced. He was booed very loudly.

Here is my boy Rip being introduced to the crowd. I need to get his jersey to wear - maybe for my birthday.
On Wednesday I went to an American Idol/Lost finale party. I am so happy my boy Taylor won - soul patrol! I can not wait for his album to come out. As far as Lost goes I'm pretty proud of myself - I had already figured out (sort of) how the plane crashed. I figured it had something to do with the electromagnetic thing in the hatch when we first learned about it at the start of the season. Next year should be interesting.
Finally, today the hubby and I went to the Rochester Heritage Festival at the park across from our apartment complex. We first went the pancake breakfast at the community house and then walked around the festival. I forgot my camera so I did not get any pictures of the civil war reenactment or the other cool things they had there. After we left he went to the Electronic Music Festival downtown and I came home to read, nap and knit. It has been a nice day.
I completed the May Mid-Month KAL the other day. It was done in memory of Andi's (the group owner) grandmother. As someone who has a history of heart disease in her family (grandpa, grandma, aunt and 2 uncles on my dad's side) this was a wonderful message to get out to everyone. Details as always are here. I had to frog my shawl and I have not worked much on it this past week. I really need to get going on that if I want to have it done by my birthday at the end of next month. I am also working on the lacey mock cable cloth from the Dishcloth Boutique and the next KAL begins on June 1st. I better get those fingers knitting. Until next time ....

A rant and some new loves
It seems like every Sunday night around 7pm I get down. The weekend it almost over and I have to go back to a job I hate the next day. Well I have some leads on jobs so hopefully I won't be at the psycho place much longer. I know I should be happy that I at least have a job - and I am - but it is difficult when you are dealing with the bull that I deal with. Enough with that and back to the good stuff.
I am still working on my shawl but it looks the same so no new pictures of that. I have also finished another dishcloth. This was the March Mid-Month KAL.

As always, the details are over here.
I took a half day on Friday since I will be in Dallas for work next Saturday and I stopped by Borders on my way home. I bought the Summer Interweave Knits and the Folk Shawls book. There are so many great patterns in both. My favorites in the magazine are the Looking Glass Top, Wedgewood Blouse, Cambridge Jacket (for the DH), Thorn & Thistle Twinset, Evening Star Top, and the Icarus Shawl. In the Folk Shawls book I am totally in love with the Irish DIamond Shawl but there are many more wonderful designs in the book. Well my to knit list just got long - I better get theose needles moving! Unitil next time ....

This rant is brought to you by the letters P, M & S
Dear dumbass I work for:
As much as I would love to hold your hand while you do the job you have been doing since I was 8 years old I just do not have the time. See, if I walk you through every single step of your job when will I have time to do mine? I also don't care about your kids, husband, money troubles (especially when you make more than me and my hubby combined), the fact you live in the ghetto, you nephew's green hair or anything else. Just leave me the fuck alone so I can get my work done because I know that if I don't I will hear you bitch about it tomorrow for 20 fucking minutes!
Sincerely -
Your pissed off employee
Dear morons I work with:
I am only one person. I do the job that 2 full time people and 1 part time person used to do. I just can not get to everything the very second you ask. Also, if you call me every 5 minutes wondering where something is it will take me 300 times longer to get your shit done. Please go away before I stab you with my knitting needle.
Sincerely -
The angry bitch at the end of the hall
PS If it is between 12pm and 1pm, I am knitting and I have food in front of me I AM NOT WORKING - GO AWAY AND COME BACK AFTER LUNCH!
I feel slightly better now. I can't believe I have updated 3 days in a row. Don't get used to it - I know I won't be able to update again until at least Thursday. I am still working on my shawl and I started the mid-March KAL from the dishcloth group that I never knitted. This is a short row pattern and I am loving it - it is very addicting. Now I am off to eat ice cream, knit and watch David Blaine. Yes I know it is completely stupid but I can't help myself - I love cheesy tv like this. Until next time ....

Lazy Sunday
I love lazy Sundays. It is such a nice way to mentally prepare myself for another week at work. I have another FO to show off.
This is the May KAL for the Monthly Dishcloth group. I know many people wonder why someone would want to knit dishcloths. I love to knit them because the yarn is cheap, it is a quick way to finish an object, I have learned many interesting stitches with this KAL group and they are useful. Maybe they aren't for everyone but I love to knit them. I guess I am even low maintenance as a knitter. The details, as always, are here.
I have knitted a couple of repeats on my rippled shawl. Here is the progress - sorry for the blurriness but a photographer I am not.

I love this pattern. It is not easy but is not too difficult. It is a great in between pattern. It is also a easy patter to memorize.
Finally I will leave you with some quiz results
I think that is pretty accurate description of me. And I have always wanted to visit Austin. Well it is time for me to go make dinner. Until next time ....

What do we have here?
That would be one finished Clapotis! I finished it Monday night. I still have to finish unravelling the dropped stitches and it really needs to be blocked but it is off the needles - details here. Can I get a nickel plated medal or something?

I was a little worried at the end that I would run out of yarn and with good reason - here's what was left.

Pretty close huh? I'm really glad I only had to start over 25 times and that I broke the yarn 10 times.
It has been a pretty busy week. On Wednesday hubby and I took his parents to the Tiger game. They won and it was a very good game. Here is a picture of my boyfriend at bat.

Here's the visitors dugout that we sit next to - they were playing the Angels.

Then last night my sister and I went to the Soul 2 Soul II concert at the Palace. It was a great show - I highly recommend it if you're a Tim and Faith fan. They are so cute and so much in love. And woo hoo he is so hot! If I wasn't such a dingbat I would have pictures to show you but since I left my camera in the car I will leave you this pic so you can see for yourself how cute they are.

Right now I am working on the Monthly Dishcloth May KAL and the rippled shawl from Lion Brand (I would link but their new site sucks and I don't want to deal with it right now). Until next time ....

Monday again already?
Why can't work days fly by and weekends drag? Is that to much to ask? This weekend went by so fast. Saturday was my niece's 7th birthday party (her birthday is actually today - love ya Rachel!). On our way home Jerry and I stopped at Salvation Army on Orchard Lake where I bought a new makeup bag, a cute compact and a shirt to unravel. However, I think I actually like the shirt and will wear it if it fits. Then we ate dinner at the Rochester Mills Beer Co. Not only was the food really good (and cheap) but it is located in an old knitting factory! I think we definitely need to make this a stop n our knitter's pub crawl one day!
I finished another dishcloth - the April Mid-Month KAL. All the details are located here. Yesterday I actually picked up Clapotis and finished 2 repeats. At this rate it will be done sometime in 2010!
I leave you with a couple of pictures of the beautiful tree outside our apartment building.

This is a definite sign that spring is finally here! Until next time ....
